In Memory Of Haddon Robinson

Dr. Haddon W. Robinson, 86, was welcomed home to heaven on July 22, 2017. This respected and beloved mentor, teacher, leader, preacher, and friend influenced countless people for Christ over the years of his ministry. Our Daily Bread Ministries was blessed to have him as a  discussion leader for over 23 years for Discover the Word, as well as a contributing writer to the Our Daily Bread devotional. Dr. Robinson taught at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he was the Harold John Ockenga Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Preaching. A native of New York City, he completed his graduate studies at Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M., 1955), Southern Methodist University (M.A., 1960), and the University of Illinois (Ph.D., 1964). Dr. Robinson also served as president of Denver Seminary for 12 years and taught homiletics on the faculty of Dallas Theological Seminary for 19 years. He authored seven books, including Biblical Preaching, which is a primary source for the study of expository preaching. He also wrote and edited for several magazines including Christianity Today and Moody Monthly. Dr. Robinson is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bonnie, who lives in Willow Valley, Pennsylvania; two children, Vicki and Torrey (wife Sue); and two grandsons.
