I was brought up in Hull and went up to Newcastle to study Town Planning. I became a Christian, somewhat reluctantly, in my second term there (well over 40 years ago) through a group called The Navigators who gave me a strong biblical foundation. I worked in their Africa office for three years in Nairobi before coming back to UK to study for a Masters in Nottingham. The Foreign Office then sent me to Lesotho in South Africa where the first two of my three daughters was born. In 1996 we returned and I found a job in East Lancashire where I continued to work for over 20 years before moving to Essex in late 2018 where I currently work for the County Council. I have had a number of roles within the churches I have been involved in, from elder to tea rota; Sunday school to lay minster. I am a volunteer speaker for Open Doors and passionate about the persecuted church. I love sports, the countryside, reading and writing, and trains.
